Our Internet was down yesterday, so here's two at once. Also, I'm off on vacation as of 5 PM today... won't be back for a week! I hope you guys can do without five days of updates. We'll see if I can make it up all at once next weekend. Hurrah!

The Sistine Madonna (detail)

Most people know this one, but most people don't know it's part of a larger painting called the Sistine Madonna. The angels look intensely bored, but they're looking at Mary holding the baby Jesus. I guess that by the time of the New Testament they were used to all the big brouhaha about burning bushes and pillars of fire, so here they're like "yeh u gotz babeh kthxbai".

Or maybe they were just thinking about other things. Like getting some wimminz.

Birthday

I didn't realize until after making this that Dorothea Tanning is still alive, and may wish to exercise copyright over this piece. In which case, although relevant information is in this entry, should Ms. Tanning ask me to remove it, I will do so; but I would point out that it is merely a comical interpretation of a fascinating piece of art, and I intend no disrespect with my dialogue. The griffum is just too cute.

Cat and Spider

Guys, I went to the museum this weekend and noted down some excellent fodder for the site... we'll see what I can find on the Interwebs. Today's, though, is from Regina at TILfW:
